blood flowed and with my ego abused, I walked away,

They say I should have been born with zebra stripes,
the way you walked right over me,
again and again, until the lines smudged and bruised,
blood flowed and with my ego abused, I walked away,
my heart turned back, but 15 years of pain and memories and humiliation kept my feet right on track.
I can hear your voice call, but still, I will walk
until my feet turn meaty, bloody and raw.
It's done, I wash my hands, I cherish the good memories and forget your clenched hands.
So goodbye, I will whisper into the cold winter air, I know you won't hear these words, I actually don't care.
No more pain, no more hate, no more confusion, I won't swallow that cake.
Even these lines and words are way too good for old arrogant you.
Yes, Finally I am selfish, this siren song is mine
